Creative Ways to Transform Paper—February's Paper Magic

February is all about paper, and if there’s one thing most of us have plenty of, it’s scraps. Junk mail, old books, packaging—things that often get tossed can become incredible works of art with a little imagination. I’ve been diving into paper weaving lately, giving torn magazine pages a second life as textured patterns, and it’s reminded me just how much potential lies in the everyday materials around us.
This week’s newsletter is packed with inspiration—from inventive paper craft projects by the community to ephemera finds on Remnants. Plus, a look back at our first Craft Café & Supply Swap (and a reminder that it’s now a monthly event!).
Let’s get into it!

📜 Fresh Inspiration: Community Paper Crafts
This month’s theme is all about Unique Ways to Use Paper, and the Peo Vee community has been bringing the creativity! From intricate collages to handmade paper, here’s a glimpse at what’s been inspiring us lately.
A Book Turned Vase by Angela R.
When you reply to our newsletters and share your projects, it truly makes our day—we LOVE seeing what you create! Angela’s ultra-creative book project blew us away. We’ve seen plenty of ways to upcycle book pages, but using the cover itself? Genius. It got us thinking… what else could a book become? 🤔

A Book Created with Paper Scraps by Peggy
Peggy shared this beautifully crafted book in our community, made entirely from paper scraps and specialty papers. She even discovered that Tyvek—yes, the material used in home wrap—is printable! She used it for the spine reinforcement and a large picture on the back, while the cover is fabric. Such a creative way to give new life to leftover materials!"

Papercrete Fairy Houses, Planters & Pots by Beverly
Beverly is turning recycled paper into something magical! Using a mix of shredded paper, Portland cement, and aggregates, she creates whimsical papercrete fairy houses, planters, and pots. Lately, she’s been experimenting with brown Kraft paper instead of newspapers, hoping for a more wood-like finish. Here’s how she tested her latest batch of fairy doors—and what’s next in the process!

🏷️ Ephemera Finds on Remnants
If you love vintage aesthetics, ephemera is a goldmine for paper crafting. Remnants has a fresh selection of old photographs, postcards, and vintage magazines—perfect for collages, junk journaling, and mixed media projects. Browse the latest finds here »

I’m Selling Most of My Craft Supplies (And Why You Should Too)
Gabriela Chagas loved her craft supplies—until they started feeling more like a burden than a joy. Unfinished projects, untouched materials, and the weight of too many “someday” plans led her to a realization: it was time to let go.
In her latest piece, she shares why she’s selling most of her supplies on Remnants, Peo Vee’s creative reuse marketplace, and why other crafters might want to do the same.

✂️ Craft Café & Supply Swap Recap
Our first meetup at Circular Library was a blast! Crafters gathered to swap supplies, work on projects, and share ideas over tea. If you missed it, check out this video recap and some of our favorite moments below. And if you're in Los Angeles, mark your calendar—this happens every month! Join the next one here.

Attendees dropped supplies, and scoured the bins for new supplies to take home.

Crafters enjoyed social craft time, working on knitting projects, card-making and more!
Happy upcycling,
