Joyful Upcycles & New Finds This Week on Remnants
Find Joy in Creativity This December
This December, I’m embracing the idea of creating joy—and I invite you to do the same. Whether it’s through a cheerful decoration, a practical project with a playful twist, or simply something that makes you smile as you work on it, our project theme this month is all about Joyful Upcycles. What will you create that makes you happy?
To all the new members who joined us via Remnants—welcome! We’re thrilled to have you here and can’t wait to see what you’ll bring to our vibrant upcycling community.
Read on below to find out what’s new and exciting this week!
Joyful Upcycles: This Month’s Project Theme
This month, we’re challenging you to create something that sparks joy—for you or someone else. Need ideas? Try:
A whimsical upcycled decoration.
A bold, practical item with a pop of personality.
A project that makes the process as enjoyable as the result!
In case you’ve missed it, I’ve been getting joy from transforming a pumpkin stack that was given to me—and I won’t use—into a paper mache snowman that I will! Follow us on Instagram or Tiktok to see the finished product later this week.
Step 1: Make a hat | Step 2: Paper Mache |
If you’re getting joy from something you’re upcycling, share it with us! Post on Peo Vee or tag us on social media. We’d love to feature your work!

Community Spotlight
This week, we’re featuring Mary Frances Millet’s upcycled paper earrings. Mary shares, “I’m a thrifter and an upcycler from way back. I create upcycled paper earrings now and I’m addicted. I use old books, magazines, maps, marbled paper, vintage letters people have written and everything paper! See my website [maryfrancesmillet.com] to check them out. I’m always searching for more cool ephemera!”
Thank you for inspiring us, Mary!
Wishing you a joyful and creative holiday season,
